ELECTION COVERAGE
Play  Convention Coverage
As you've probably been hearing all week, WUWM is airing complete NPR convention coverage. Tonight from 7 to 10 pm, the Democratic National Convention concludes with Senator Barack Obama's acceptance speech.

RNC coverage will begin on Monday, September 1st and will run until Thursday, the 4th. Listen from 7 to 10 pm as NPR reports from Minneapolis.
McCainPlay  McCain Veep Announcement Coverage
WUWM will air special NPR coverage of Senator John McCain's rally in Dayton, Ohio on Friday, August 29th at 10 am. It is widely expected that this will be the first joint appearance of Senator McCain and his Vice Presidential running mate. This coverage will pre-empt Friday's edition of Lake Effect.

Noted sports commentator, author and NPR Morning Edition Commentator, Frank Deford will present “Sports: The Hype and Hypocrisy” on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 4 p.m. in the Tony and Lucille Weasler Auditorium, 1506 W. Wisconsin Ave. Deford will discuss his experiences as a sports writer and the broader role that sports play in society. The event is free and open to the public.
