Badger basketball fans have even more reason to celebrate. The University of Wisconsin's Frank Kaminsky is the Associated Press' player of the year.

The 7-foot forward was a runaway favorite and is the first Wisconsin player to win the award.

Kaminsky is also the first Wisconsin player to be awarded the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Year Award by the United States Basketball Writers Association, another honor announced on Friday.

"He's everything that college basketball is supposed to be about," said USBWA President Dana O'Neil of ESPN. "[He's] a great player and a great person."

As the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament enters into the Final Four this weekend, Wisconsin will take on Kentucky at 7:49 pm Saturday.
