Civil Liberties Advocate Says DA Decision in Hamilton Case Leaves Unanswered Questions

The U.S. Department of Justice will begin a civil rights probe of the police shooting death of Dontre Hamilton, after local prosecutors determined no criminal charges were warranted.

Chris Ahmuty, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Wisconsin, will be watching that review closely. Ahmuty disagrees with District Attorney John Chisholm's decision not to charge former Milwaukee officer Christopher Manney in Hamilton’s death.

Ahmuty says there are several unanswered questions in the case.
