Holiday Classic "A Christmas Carol" With A Twist

Among the holiday offerings that reliably come around this time of year – like the Milwaukee Ballet’s Nutcracker, the symphony’s Holiday Pops concert, and the Milwaukee Rep’s “A Christmas Carol,” there’s always one that swims against the tide.

In Tandem Theatre is known for is untraditional holiday fare, and this year is no exception.  “A Twisted Carol”  takes the well-known Dickens story and turns it on its ear.  It features new music by local singer and composer Nathan Wesselowski and In Tandem co-founder Chris Flieller plays the irascible Scrooge.

"A Twisted Carol" was originally a non-musical sketch years ago during a different satirical holiday show, but Flieller and Wesselowski wanted to expand upon one of their most favorite segments.

"Since we wanted to give our audiences something new and wonderful," Flieller says "we thought this would be the year to see if we could give this a go."

Shows are running now throughout December and into the new year.
