Even though most large cities – including Milwaukee – have their own auto shows, two dates on the calendar standout for the automotive industry in this country.
Detroit, because it features splashy premieres of new products; and Chicago, for its sheer size.
Even thoughMilwaukee’s show starts this Saturday at the Wisconsin Center, if you want to whet your appetite, the Chicago Auto Show runs through Sunday at McCormick Place. And it features some of its own vehicle premieres in what is billed as the nation’s largest car show.
Lake Effect’s Dan Harmon visited the show last week, and met up with our auto contributor, Mark Savage to take a look at and discuss the changes, or lack thereof, on the show floor.
"Its got to be the most boring time to be a car designer because you're not allowed to do anything to the outside of the car that hasn't been done before. You don't see too many people taking real chances unless it's a concept vehicle, or unless it's a racing car," Savage says.
