Local Business Serves as 'Wedding Planner' for People's Stuff

Gianofer Fields

People spend a lifetime collecting things that tell their stories but what happens when for whatever reason, they can't keep them anymore.

Pat Mattiacci and Kirsten Winski are downsizing and organizational experts with Home2Home TransitionServices in Madison.

They say they are like wedding planners for peoples stuff, helping people decide what to get rid of, what to keep, and where to put it.  Mattiacci tells Lake Effect’s Material Culture contributor Gianofer Fields that it’s like adding another chapter to the story of a life.

This segment is part of the "It’s a Material World" series curated by Fields.  That project is funded by the Chipstone Foundation, a decorative arts foundation whose mission is preserving and interpreting their collection, as well as stimulating research and education in the decorative arts.
