Milwaukee-Based Dead Horses Release New Single

Wisconsin-based band Dead Horses' last album, Cartoon Moon, garnered national praise and earned the band three Wisconsin Area Music Industry awards this spring, including album of the year.

It’s been a relatively quiet summer for the group, which calls Milwaukee its home after starting in Oshkosh years ago. But that’s about to change. They just released a new single with a full album on the way, and they play a show at Turner Hall, before hitting the road for a national tour

Singer and guitarist, Sarah Vos, admits it's a bit daunting releasing a new album, given the success of their last one. Still, she believes it's more important to look forward instead of back.

"As we’ve been working on that new material, I’ve thought about it in comparison to Cartoon Moon and I guess as an artist, I’m trying not to compare it too much - I think that can be kind of detrimental to the creative process," says Vos.
