Photos: Winter Storm Hits Wisconsin

Liz Benzschawel

Weather Conditions as of 5 pm:

People across Wisconsin are coping with the season’s first widespread snowstorm. A Winter Storm Warning for all of southeast Wisconsin is in effect until 3 am Friday. The DOT is recommending no non-essential travel in areas west and north of Milwaukee.

Innovative Weather forecasts that most of the accumulating snow will occur between now and midnight with lingering snow showers and flurries in the eastern counties into early Friday morning.

Snow accumulations will vary from around 12-18 inches in West Bend, Hartford, Beaver Dam and Lake Mills. The Milwaukee area will probably average out to around 3-5 inches, with 6-10 inches in the western suburbs.
