Drew Stevens is the Distinguished Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at the Chazen Museum in Madison. While curating has been his thing for 30 years, Stevens says the distinguished bit came after his hair changed color.
This is contributor Gianofer Fields’ third visit with Stevens and unfortunately, it’s probably her last, thanks to his imminent retirement. But if it has to be goodbye, it’s fitting that their final conversation is about Japanese printmaking, a subject near and dear to Steven's heart. Entitled, Watanabe: Japanese Print Envoy, the exhibition is about the revival of printmaking in the early 20th Century:
