Scientific Discovery Turns Two UWM Physicists Into Entrepreneurs

Jason Rieve
Tom Luljak and guests

As a top tier research university, UW-Milwaukee has hundreds of faculty members working every day to make discoveries in their field of study. When there is a breakthrough and new ideas, new compounds, even new products emerge, it’s often the end result of years and years of careful, painstaking work.

On this edition of UWM Today, we have the fascinating story of how two UWM physicists are turning into entrepreneurs because of their scientific discovery. Joining us in the studio are Marija Gajdardziska, the dean of UWM’s Graduate School and professor of physics, and Carol Hirschmugl, a physics professor in the College of Letters and Science.

Tom Luljak hosted UWM Today on WUWM for more than two decades and is the inaugural host of Curious Campus.
