'Walking Backwards': A Retrospective Of Poet John Koethe's Half-Century Career

John Koethe has been writing poems for more than a half-century. He’s earned awards and national renown, including the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize and the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award. But in Milwaukee, he might be better known for his years of service to philosophy, as a professor and now distinguished professor emeritus at UW-Milwaukee.

Aficionados of his work with gather Friday, Nov. 30, at Boswell Book Company to hear Koethe read from his new collection of poems Walking Backwards: Poems 1966-2016. He joins Lake Effect's Mitch Teich in the studio to talk about the new collection and share a couple poems.
