Volker Radeloff is an associate professor of forest and wildlife ecology at UW-Madison. He studies what’s called the “wildland-urban interface”: areas where development presses into the nation’s forests, mountains and lakes. He talks with Jane Hampden about the California wildfires and threats to Wisconsin’s north woods.
Musician Paul Silbergleit teaches jazz guitar at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. His trio performs there tomorrow night. He speaks with Bonnie North and performs in the Lake Effect studio.
