Running for 6th District

Milele Coggs is an attorney running for a seat on the Milwaukee Common Council in 6th aldermanic district.  She talks with Jane Hampden.  Her opponent, incumbent Mike McGee, is held without bond in jail, facing charges of vote-buying.  We contacted McGee’s attorney and his campaign office; he declined Lake Effect’s request for an interview.  Election day in Wisconsin is April 1st.

Update:  Lake Effect was contacted by Alderman McGee's campaign after today's interview aired.  We will present an interview with a campaign representative next week on the program.

Tim Osswald is a professor in the department of mechanical engineering at UW-Madison and an expert in plastics design.  He and his students helped Wisconsin entrepreneur Ben Hobbins design an environmentally friendly fishing lure called IronClad.

Eileen Favorite’s debut novel is called The Heroines.  She teaches at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  She was in Milwaukee recently for a reading and spoke with Sara Prince.

Ted Kooser was United States Poet Laureate from 2004 to 2006.  He’s a professor of English at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and author of eleven poetry collections.  He gave the Medical Humanities lecture at the Medical College of Wisconsin last December, and spoke with Bonnie North.
