Ann Bancroft is from Minnesota; Liv Arnesen is from Norway. They were the first women to traverse Antarctica. Their team, Bancroft Arnesen Explore is gearing up for a trip back to the southernmost continent in 2011. They were in Milwaukee over the weekend as featured speakers during the inauguration of Dr. Helen Sobehart as president of Cardinal Stritch University.
Kevin Larimer is the deputy editor ofPoets and Writers magazine, and profiled Wisconsin writer David Rhodes in the magazine's current issue. Larimer is originally from Portage and is a graduate of UW-Milwaukee. He spoke with Stephanie Lecci from his office in New York.
