Bob Teske is the executive director of the Milwaukee County Historical Society. He joined WUWM’s Bob Bach at the South Shore Park Pavilion in Milwaukee.
Nikki Giovanni is a world-renowned poet, writer and activist. She has written more than 30 books for adults and children. She is also a University Distinguished Professor at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. She recently read from Bicycles at Schwartz Books in Milwaukee. She tells Lake Effect’s Stephanie Lecci how from a place of pain, she wrote love.

Valerie Laken's new novel is called Dream House, published by HarperCollins. Laken will read from and discuss her book tonight at the Schwartz Bookshop on Downer Avenue. She spoke with Lake Effect’s Mitch Teich. Laken is an assistant professor in the English Department at UW-Milwaukee.
