Jeremy Travis is the president of John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. He previously served as a Senior Fellow with the non-partisan Justice Policy Center at the Urban Institute. He also was named by President Bill Clinton to direct the National Institute of Justice, the research arm of the U.S. Department of Justice. He told Lake Effect’s Stephanie Lecci that Milwaukee is making headway in using the community justice model.
