Tim Kratz and Paul Hanson are scientists with the University of Wisconsin Center for Limnology, and on the steering committee for the Global Lake Ecological Observatory Network, or GLEON. Around two dozen lakes and buoys around the world are currently part of the network. They tell us how the network allows researchers around the world to share data – and understanding of the science of inland lakes.
Mick Skwarok is the Emerald Ash Borer Outreach Specialist for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. He spoke with us from the studios of Wisconsin Public Radio in Madison. Ingrid Kelley is the author of Energy in America: A Tour of Our Fossil Fuel Culture and Beyond, published last November by the University of Vermont Press. Kelley is also project manager with the Energy Center of Wisconsin. She tells Stephanie Lecci that she wanted her book to be different from those that simply give case study examples on how to be energy-wise.
