Susan Coppersmith is a theoretical condensed matter physicist and a professor of physics at UW-Madison. She was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in April. We spoke to her from the studios of Wisconsin Public Radio in Madison. She explains, in lay terms, exactly what it is that she does.
