Les Leopold is the author of The Looting of America: How Wall Street's Game of Fantasy Finance Destroyed Our Jobs, Pensions, and Prosperity and What We Can Do About It, published by Chelsea Green. He is also the cofounder and director of two nonprofit organizations, the Labor Institute and the Public Health Institute. He tells Stephanie Lecci that the roots of the crisis lie in the deregulation trend that occurred in the late 70s and 80s.

Justin Perkins is a freelance recording and mixing engineer and producer. He lives in Bay View. He spoke with Bonnie North. In the interview, we hear: “We Never Know” by the now defunct Madison band the New Kentucky Quarter, and “Breakaway” by Bad (Love) Experience, an Italian alt rock band Perkins recorded in Italy last year. We end with the tune, Heart Out Of Season by the Chicago band Riverdales. It's on their 4th album, Invasion USA, which was produced by Perkins and is coming out on CD and vinyl today on Asian Man Records. The CD release show in Madison at the Majestic Theatre on July 25th. Perkins also played some tambourine and did backing vocals on the record.
