Jessica Bergstrom is an associate researcher for the Center for Urban Population Health, which is a partnership between the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Aurora Health Care and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She conducted the research on the state of breast cancer incidence in eight southeastern Wisconsin counties for the Milwaukee affiliate of Susan G. Komen Foundation. For more information, click here.
Margo Anderson is a professor of history and urban studies at UWM. Victor Greene is an emeritus professor of history. They edited the new book Perspectives on Milwaukee’s Past, published by the University of Illinois Press. They each also contributed an essay to the collection.
Saskia Sassen is the Robert S. Lynd Professor of Sociology at Columbia University and a member of the Committee on Global Thought there. She’s the author of eight books, including her most recent, “Territory, Authority, Rights: From Medieval to Global Assemblages,” published by Princeton University Press. She gave the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture in the Humanities” at UWM in April.
Gordon Quinn is co-founder of Chicago-based Kartemquin Films – he’s been making documentaries for more than 40 years… his film credits include the 1966 film, “Home for Life,” and Kartemquin’s most well-known film, the 1994 movie “Hoop Dreams.” Justine Nagan is the Executive Director of Kartemquin and director of the documentary, “Typeface,” about the Hamilton Wood Type Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. She’s also a film and journalism graduate of the University of Wisconsin. They spoke with Mitch Teich back in June.
