Our Down to Business segment focuses on commercial real estate vacancies in downtown Milwaukee Pete Millard has covered real estate, economic development, construction and energy issues for the Business Journal of Milwaukee for more than a decade. Ned Purtell is a founding partner at RFP Commercial, Inc., and in the last 5 years, has made more than three million square feet of sales and leasing transactions. They spoke with Stephanie Lecci for this month's "Down to Business" segment.

Fifield Fire Lookout Tower on the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (photo courtesy USFS). Mark Bruhy is the Archeologist and Heritage Program Manager on the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. He joined us on the phone from his office in Rhinelander. Bruhy was named National Archaeologist of the Year by the US Forest Service this month. He spoke with Mitch Teich.

Marilyn Taylor is the Poet Laureate for the State of Wisconsin. Her newest chapbook is called Going Wrong. B.J. Best is an award-winning poet and typewriter specialist, whose latest collection is called State Sonnets. His first full-length book, Birds of Wisconsin, is due out in 2010. He also teaches at Carroll University in Waukesha. They spoke with Stephanie Lecci. They'll be giving a presentation entitled The Sonnet: Not Just for Dead People Anymore at Boswell Book Company tomorrow night.

Jenny Watson is an associate professor of German and Scandinavian literature at UW-Milwaukee. She’s the editor of German Milwaukee, published by Arcadia, and written by members of a class by the same name she taught at UWM last school year. She first spoke with Mitch Teich in August.
