Linda Birnbaum is the Director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, one of the institutes that comprise the National Institutes of Health. Before her appointment in January, Birnbaum served as director of the Experimental Toxicology Program at the Environmental Protection Agency. NIEHS and Children's Environmental Health Sciences Core Center held a town hall meeting in Milwaukee this week. Nearly 40 investigators from UW-Milwaukee, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin conduct research related to the Core Center's work.
