Anne Fadiman is the author of The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Nonfiction. She spoke with Stephanie Lecci. On Monday evening, Fadiman will be giving a talk on the relationship between culture, healing and medicine for a joint event that combines the 4th Annual Medical Humanities Lecture and the 7th Paul S. Pierson, MD Memorial Lecture in Bioethics at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
