Milwaukee redevelopment officials have approved a proposal by Charter Wire to build a new plant in the city’s industrial Menomonee Valley. Charter General Manager John Mellowes says the $20-million facility would occupy about 8 acres on the west end. The company would like to break ground in summer and expects the facility would be fully operational in about 18 months. Mellowes told WUWM's Bob Bach that the new building would replace a decades old factory the company has been leasing in Milwaukee.
