The public had a chance to comment last night on UWM's proposal to build its new School of Freshwater Sciences at the lakefront. The university hopes to build the school on the site of former Pieces of Eight restaurant near the Milwaukee Art Museum. The Milwaukee Board of Harbor Commissioners oversees the land and would have to approve the plan.  While the future location is still up in the air, UWM officials say the School of Freshwater Sciences will be the first of its kind in the country. Val Klump, Director of UWM's Great Lakes Water Institute, spoke to WUWM's Bob Bach about what would be offered at the new school.
