Scientists have convened in downtown Milwaukee for a conference on Lake Michigan and its watersheds.

Over the next few days, 150 teams will share their research on the health of, and efforts to restore, the lake and its basin.

Judy Beck gave one of the opening speeches today. She’s the EPA’s Lake Michigan Coordinator.

Beck told WUWM Environmental Reporter Susan Bence afterwards that more than scientists will play a role in the lake’s future health.
