Violent crimes, such as homicide and rape, have dropped 25 percent in Milwaukee during the last two years. The mayor and police chief announced the statistics at a news conference Tuesday. The police department says the reduction in crime is a trend, not an anomaly. WUWM's Ann-Elise Henzl asked criminal justice expert Stan Stojkovic to share his thoughts on what the numbers mean. Stojkovic is dean of the School of Social Welfare at UW-Milwaukee.
