Lawmakers to Consider Medical Marijuana Bill

Two Democratic state lawmakers announced Monday that they're co-sponsoring a bill to legalize medical marijuana. It will be the subject of a public hearing Dec. 15. One of the sponsors, Sen. Jon Erpenbach, believes there's enough support to get it passed.

Advocacy groups and patients say marijuana can help sick people regain their appetite, and deal with pain caused by their diseases.

Thirteen states have legalized medical marijuana. Gov. Jim Doyle says he would support it, if users have a doctor's prescription.
