The final tally is not yet in, but it appears the number of domestic violence homicides that occurred last year in Wisconsin could reach a 10-year high. The Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence released preliminary figures Wednesday. The group says there were 59 domestic violence deaths in 2009. Executive Director Patti Seger says the coalition felt compelled to release the early numbers in light of news that violent crime around the state is decreasing. Seger spoke with WUWM’s Erin Toner.
