A local doctor will return to Haiti tomorrow, to continue helping people injured in last month’s earthquake. Dr. Jeff Cameron is medical director of Sacred Heart Rehabilitation at Columbia St. Mary’s. He’s also a wound care specialist. Cameron has been traveling to Haiti every winter for ten years, to train therapists and others there to care for people with movement challenges. His team had to cancel its plans because of the quake. But Cameron was able to hook up medical team from Maimi that was setting up a makeshift hospital at Haiti’s airport. Cameron says it quickly filled to capacity: 150 patients; and more arrived hourly.
