Prediction

TOM BODETT: Oh, thank you.

PETER SAGAL, HOST:

Congratulations, Tom.

BODETT: So happy.

SAGAL: In just a minute, we're going to ask our panelists to predict, after the debut of the new female Doctor Who, what will be the next thing that gets nerds all excited? But first, let me tell you that support for NPR comes from NPR stations and Lumber Liquidators, a proud sponsor of NPR, offering more than 400 styles, including hardwood, bamboo, laminate and vinyl, with flooring specialists in hundreds of stores nationwide. More at lumberliquidators.com or 1-800-HARDWOOD.

Progressive Insurance - comparing car insurance rates from multiple insurers so shoppers can evaluate options in one place. Now, that's progressive. Comparisons available at progressive.com or 1-800-PROGRESSIVE. And Fifth Generation, Incorporated, makers of Tito's Handmade Vodka, still independently owned by Tito Beveridge, distilled and bottled in Austin, Texas, American-made and gluten free. Recipes and more at titosvodka.com.

WAIT WAIT...DON'T TELL ME! is a production of NPR and WBEZ Chicago in association with Urgent Haircut Productions - Doug Berman, benevolent overlord. Philipp Goedicke writes our limericks. Our house manager is Tyler Greene. Our intern is Layne Gerbig. Our web guru is Beth Novey. Thanks to the good people at Revival Food Hall in Chicago who are feeding us this week. BJ Leiderman composed our theme. Our program is produced by Jennifer Mills and Miles Doornbos. Technical direction is from Lorna White. Our CFO is Ann Nguyen. Our public address announcer is Paul Friedman. Our production coordinator is Robert Neuhaus. Our senior producer is Ian Chillag. And the executive producer of WAIT WAIT...DON'T TELL ME! is Michael Danforth.

Now, panel, what will be the next thing nerds go nuts about? Adam Burke.

ADAM BURKE: Warner Bros. will take the bold approach of rebooting the "Batman" franchise halfway through the next "Batman" movie. That will then get its own reboot right before the credits when it is revealed that Batman is a woman. So is the Joker, and so is Commissioner Gordon. Hey, guess what, nerds? Everything's a woman now. Get used to it.

(LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: Paula Poundstone.

PAULA POUNDSTONE: The buttphone (ph).

(LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: They will like that and...

POUNDSTONE: They're going to love the buttphone.

(LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: And Tom Bodett.

BODETT: They'll be delighted when a study is released showing that living in your parents' basement reduces your risk of skin cancer by up to 50 percent.

(LAUGHTER)

BILL KURTIS: If that happens, panel, we'll ask you about it on WAIT WAIT...DON'T TELL ME!

SAGAL: Thank you, Bill Kurtis. Thanks also to Tom Bodett, Paula Poundstone and Adam Burke.

(APPLAUSE)

SAGAL: Thanks all of you for listening and our fabulous audience here. I'm Peter Sagal, and we'll see you next week in Millennium Park.
