Lake Effect contributor Mark Savage offers t some of the 2014 highlights, as well as trends in new features - some of which Savage says are unneccessary.

"I just think auto makers need to ask themselves, ‘What is intuitive and what is simpler for the driver?’ Because a passengers can always find the right buttons," he says.

Mark Savage writes about cars for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, plus his own website, and he’s editor of American Snowmobiler magazine, published by Waukesha’s Kalmbach publishing.
