From her hometown in the Upper Peninsula to Nashville, Lindsay Lou has garnered attention for her unique musical style. Between shows in Rockford, Illinois and the Blue Ox Music Festival in Eau Claire, she stopped in Milwaukee to chat with Lake Effect’s Mitch Teich and give us a taste of her newest music.
Lindsay and her band performed songs off their newest release, Southland - their music defying the confines of a single genre and bridging the gap between soul and bluegrass. Lindsay notes, “You don’t feel like your whole musical identity is captured in a genre, ever.”
The band will be touring all summer to support their latest album.
