Judge Blocks Part of Walker Administration's Capitol Protest Policy

Federal Judge William Conley has issued a preliminary injunction that prevents the Walker administration from enforcing requirements intended to limit demonstrations at the state capitol.A Walker administration policy created after massive demonstrations in Madison in 2011 has been partially blocked by judicial order.  Judge William Conley issued a preliminary injunction regarding the number of individuals who can demonstrate at one time. The administration's policy required permits for groups larger than four people. The judicial order bars enforcement of the permit requirement for groups of fewer than 20 people.  The judge's ruling stems from a suit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union.
