After being the Wisconsin Badgers basketball coach for the last 14 years, Bo Ryan announced he will be retiring after next season.

Ryan lead the Badgers through multiple final fours, championship games and has even brought through some first round draft picks.

Lake Effect sports contributor Howie Magner of Milwaukee Magazine's Sports Nut column believes that the team will do well despite the upcoming change. "I think (Ryan) believes the program is in a really good position right now to transition into his successor," he says.

Magner explains that Ryan really has done it all and doesn't have much left to do for the team.

Magner says Bo Ryan hopes to have assistant coach Greg Gard take his place."Bo Ryan has been with Greg Gard for two decades and basically every stop that he's been at, so Gard clearly knows the system, clearly knows how Bo runs things," Magner explains.
