Beet Street Music Video Project Connects Artists Virtually

The Beet Street Music Video Project, put on by the Cactus Club, connects musicians with filmmakers to make a music video.

Music venues are closed around Milwaukee, the United States, and the world due to the coronavirus pandemic. Musicians have been canceling tours and performances, and many are simply unable to do their jobs at home. Still, people are making music in some new and creative ways.

The Cactus Club in Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood has also been hard hit by the pandemic, but it too has found a new and creative way to connect with its community. Cactus Club is an all-ages venue that features a lot of local acts and traveling musicians. And it's inviting artists from its community to participate in the Beet Street Music Video Project

"We’re calling on artists and musicians to submit a song or several songs to this database. And then filmmakers, video creators, or folks that just want to learn something new and experiment, create a music video for these songs," says Kelsey Kaufmann, owner of the Cactus Club.

Interested musicians and artists should submit music by April 30.
