October is here. The leaves are beginning to turn vibrant orange, red and yellow and many of us have begun our annual Halloween costume search.
Yet costumes, hay rides and jack-o-lanterns aren’t the only awesome thing about October. We’d be remiss if we didn’t highlight a seasonal favorite among our German folk and beer lovers all around, Oktoberfest! Traditional German fares such as bratwurst, schnitzel, spanferkel and rollbraten are on the menu and every Milwaukee brewery and beer garden is celebrating with what else, beer?
So in honor of Oktoberfest, this week’s show is all those who love their beer and the hijinks that can sometimes ensue. First up, we have Mike Brenner, friend of ExFabula, proprietor of Brenner Brewing Co. and beer aficionado. When Mike travels to Denver for the Great American Beer Festival, he sees the 25,000 craft brews as a “challenge” to a native Milwaukeean. However when Mike comes across the karaoke stage, things get a little wilder than anyone expected.
Our next story takes us in a different direction when poor, unsuspecting Bob Murray has his Sunday Funday interrupted by a police search, a questionable bloodstain in the hallway, a beer looting apartment manager and a cheating neighbor.
Did you know? The first story slam of the season is coming. On October 22 we’ll return to neighborhood favorite, Times Cinema, for a night of stories centered around Crossing Over.
