An exhibition on view at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Artsis exploring the expressive nature of water. The various materials used by some of the artists include stone, zippers, and straws. The overall effect is a deep meditation on water and its importance. The exhibition was the brainchild of sculptor Susan Falkman, helped along by the Quilt Museum’s exhibitions curator, Emily Schlemowitz.
One of Susan Falkman's pieces in the exhibit is made of marble, which ripples with water-like ridges. She explains, "Stone actually is birthed in water, and it's water that forms stone and forms our landscape."
The show runs through mid-November 2019 at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts in Cedarburg.
