As businesses continue to reopen during the coronavirus pandemic, there are still concerns about how to do it safely. For most places, that means limiting the number of people allowed inside at one time, spacing out tables, and taping down socially distant spots to stand in line. But that can be a bit tricky when your business model depends on going in and out of other businesses, surrounded by a crowd of people.
Anna Lardinois is the founder of Gothic Milwaukee and Walking Milwaukee, which leads historical ghost tours through the city. She says the last few months have been difficult, but the organization has found ways to continue their tours while incorporating new health precautions.
"Our entire tour is now taking place outdoors, nothing indoors. Only a maximum of eight guests and everyone will wear masks. So, we will always be in a public space with hopefully wind blowing away anything that could possibly be near us," says Lardinois.
