We’re into the home stretch of the NFL season and about the only certainty we have is that the Cleveland Browns will not be in the Super Bowl.  But the rest of the situation is kind of an open book, with the Packers' chapter looking even grimmer following yesterday's fourth straight loss.

Managing editor of The Sports Postand Lake Effect sports contributor Shaun Ranft notes that while any losses are disappointing for Packers fans, the team has set the bar very high with two skilled quarterbacks in its legacy.

"We're definitely a little spoiled here. I'm 27 years-old and I have been alive for 21 winning seasons, 18 play-off appearances and two Super Bowl wins, so that's not the worst," he says. "It could be better and it's frustrating to see when you still have someone who is only 32...and a two-time MVP, to see the competitiveness [and his general throwing mechanics] waning a little bit."

However, Ranft notes that things for the Packers have been going south starting last year when "they kind of dragged their way through the season." Amidst an "off" Aaron Rodgers, injuries sustained and the fall of the team's defense, we have yet to see any significant recovery in this season.

"Luckily for them, they're in a very bad division so they can maybe sneak in that way, but they're not going to be a threat later on," notes Ranft.

If you are looking for additional teams to keep track of while keeping an eye on the Packers, Ranft suggests following promising teams such as the Cowboys, the Redskins, and AFC teams such as Kansas City, Oakland and Denver.
