Groups Publicize Options for Getting Around Milwaukee During Bus Drivers' Strike

Ways to get around town, without buses

While the Milwaukee County Transit System and its union bus drivers remain at a budget stalemate, several organizations are offering residents options for travel, including to Summerfest and the July 3 lakefront fireworks.

In addition, at least onechurch is helping organize carpools, especially for people who need to reach grocery stores and medical appointments.

Summerfest is publicizing places to park and alternative forms of mass transit to and from the gate, while the county has opened additional parking spaces near the grounds.

Milwaukee's downtowntrolley will extend services on Friday to accommodate people attending Summerfest and the U.S. Bank Fireworks.

Bike rental services Bublr is reminding commuters and tourists that there are bikes to use, if needed.
