Even though Milwaukee Day is taking place during the coronavirus pandemic, you can still celebrate from home.

April 14 is a special day in Milwaukee. The date, 4-14, corresponds with the city's area code, making it the perfect day to celebrate everything the city has to offer.

In years past, there have been special concerts and parties to celebrate Milwaukee Day. But of course, this year is a bit unusual due to the coronavirus pandemic. Still, as we stay inside to keep our community safer, there are different ways to engage with our community.

"In the name of social distancing and making sure everybody stays [home], one thing we were really happy about is a lot of the community participation has to do with things people can engage with online or from the comfort of their own home," says Andy Silverman, one of the co-founders of Milwaukee Day.

There are a lot of different events taking place that you can participate in, including a 14-hour telethon from Milwaukee Record, a special edition of Milwaukee Film's Sofa Cinema, and variousfundraisers for local businesses
