Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris will travel to Milwaukee on Labor Day, the Biden-Harris campaign announced Friday.
According to a Sunday press release from the campaign, Harris will visit an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers training facility and talk with IBEW members and Wisconsin labor leaders "about Joe Biden's commitment to workers and organized labor."
She will then take part in a roundtable with Black business leaders. "At the roundtable, Senator Harris will discuss how a Biden-Harris administration would advance racial equity as part of our nation's economic recovery," the press release says.
Harris’ trip to Wisconsin comes just a few days after Biden's visit to Kenosha Thursday, in the wake of protests and unrest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake. Biden talked by phone with Blake, who is hospitalized, and met in person with some of his family members.
President Trump visited Kenosha earlier in the week, on Tuesday. He held a discussion with law enforcement and business owners whose establishments had been damaged during looting and destruction that followed protests over the Blake shooting.
Vice President Mike Pence will also be in Wisconsin Monday. He is scheduled to visit Dairyland Power Cooperative in La Crosse.
