Little League Icon James Beckum to Throw Ceremonial Pitch on Opening Day

Just before the Brewers begin their 2013 season Monday at Miller Park, James Beckum will take the mound. The team has selected him to toss the ceremonial first pitch.

Beckum played in the former Negro Leagues, but he’s known in Milwaukee as the man who started Little League on the north side back in 1964 and - devoted himself to it ever since.
