Lake Effect records in front of a live audience the Near South Side of Milwaukee, at Latino Arts in the city's Walker Square neighborhood. Journalist Adam Carr joins us to talk about how the area has evolved over decades. Then, a look at the work of the Layton Boulevard West Neighbors. Later, one of the owners and operators of Purple Door Ice Cream, talks about their decision to start their storefront in Walker's Point. Author and essayist Mel Miskimen talks about her new manuscript and her experiences living in Silver City. Plus, music from some of Latino Arts' finest guitarists and the director of the school's Strings Program talks about how the program has grown.
