Restaurant Group Drops Ryan Braun

SURG Restaurant Group

SURG Restaurant Group released a statement on Thursday saying it will change the name of its 8-Twelve MVP Bar and Grill and close Braun's Graffito restaurant. Restaurant group co-owner Michael Polaski said he appreciated the restaurant's relationship with Brewers player Ryan Braun and wished him success. Braun is currently on suspension for doping.

8-Twelve MVP Bar and Grill was named after Braun and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Braun and Rodgers were friends and business associates, but Rodgers said during training camp that he felt duped by Braun's previously strong denial of doping accusations.

The names of the Brookfield restaurant and the planned Bayshore location will both change.

Braun's Graffito restaurant, located in Milwaukee's 3rd Ward, will close its doors at the end of 2013.
