Wednesday on Lake Effect: Police Brutality Protests, Economic Mobility, Education In Pandemic

Wednesday on Lake Effect

We hear from some of the voices at yesterday’s protest. Then, we learn about the history of Milwaukee’s civil rights protests and the relationship between the city’s police and our Black community. We look at how the current recession and political tensions have made economic mobility harder than ever. Plus, since schools closed in March, educators and students have been trying to figure out their “new normal.”

Guests:

  • Maayan Silver, WUWM News
  • Reggie Jackson, head griot of America's Black Holocaust Museum and member of the City of Miwaukee's Equal Rights Commission
  • Anand Giridharadas, host of Seat At The Table
  • Emily Files, WUWM Education Reporter
