Over the past week, Lake Effect has offered some suggestions for people who are wishing for books or for games this holiday season.

Our auto contributor Mark Savage would not be so bold as to ask Santa for one of those TV commercial cars with a big bow on top, but he does have a wish list of automotive changes he'd like to in 2015.

1. Easily accessible buttons to preset radio stations - definitely not as easy to figure out with touch screen cars. Makes drivers more distracted and dangerous.

2. Plain, simple and clean dashboard design.

3. Standard location for the gas cap release.

4. More accurate trip computers for MPG calculations.

5. Lower car prices.

6. Keep the gas prices low.

7. More unique car styling.

Lake Effect contributor Mark Savage is the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s auto writer and associate publisher for four magazines at Waukesha’s Kalmbach Publishing – American Snowmobiler, Classic Toy Trains, FineScale Modeler and Scale Auto magazine.

Dan Harmon was one of the original members of Lake Effect (formerly At Ten). He started at WUWM in November of 1998 and left December of 2015 after 17 years of production.
Audrey is a WUWM host and producer for Lake Effect.
Mark Savage writes the auto review column, Savage On Wheels, for WUWM (formerly for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) and Savageonwheels.com. He is the former executive editor of American Snowmobiler magazine and FineScale Modeler magazine, both part of Kalmbach Media in Waukesha.
