WUWM Recognized with 14 Awards by Wisconsin Broadcasters Assocation

WUWM 89. 7 – Milwaukee’s NPR was honored with fourteen awards for excellence at the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association awards banquet Saturday night.

The event recognizes excellence in broadcast journalism in radio and television statewide for coverage in 2017.

WUWM received eight first-place awards, two second-place awards and four merit awards. First place awards included best news writing, use of audio, continuing coverage, commentary, and significant community impact in the large radio market (news). WUWM’s digital efforts were also recognized, taking home best website and web story for “Bag or Bay-g? Understanding Wisconsin’s Accent.”­
