More Males Sue MPD for Alleged Strip Searches

Five black men filed lawsuits in July, accusing Milwaukee police officers of conducting or overseeing illegal strip searches. On Wednesday, a 15-year-old and two other black males filed lawsuits.

The plaintiffs’ attorney is Robin Shellow. She says another 15-25 lawsuits might be in the works.

The plaintiffs say officers probed the men’s rectal and genital areas, claiming they were searching for drugs. The men say other officers looked on, but did not step in to stop the illegal activity.

The police department did not immediately respond on Wednesday to a request for comment from the Associated Press. Milwaukee City Attorney Grant Langley said he might comment after the defense files its responses.
